Hey guys, I currently own a Gigabyte h87n-wifi, wich does not allow overclocking. I also have a msi GTX 980 TI, i5 4670k, and have been thinking of upgrading my pc to an i7 6700k, msi z170a and 16gb ddr4

My other option is to replace my mobo for something that allows oc.

What you think i should do?

Thx

It would depend on the game, most games there's no real advantage of an i7 over i5. The fps is liable to be the same or minimally different (5-10fps at best, uncommon scenario) for the cost of a new cpu, mobo, ram, cooler (6700k doesn't come with a cooler).

If it's a game like overwatch, they've been having issues with fps drops whether people have an fx, i5, i7. No amount of fancy hardware can fix the issue if it's faulty software. Might be worth investigating a bit further as to what game and scenarios before you find yourself dropping $500-600 and come to find out it made no difference.
