Which gpu do you guys recommend for under $200 for 1080p ultra settings gaming? I prefer to get 60 fps, but I could get by with 40-60 or 30s. I plan to play Witcher 3, NBA 2k16 and maybe some others of the latest high end games.

I have a new computer I'm building with an i7 6700k.

Is the MSI radeon r9 380 4gb gddr5 good? It's for 154.99 before taxes.

The R9 380 (4GB) doesn't hit 60 fps all the time, but the framerates are all playable nontheless. It's not bad at all.

It's very similar to my R9 380X, with which I personally prefer to hit 60fps and so just lower a few settings if necessary.

Alternatively you could look for an R9 290 or 290X (4GB), they should be pretty cheap now and have a bit more power than the R9 380. They are only about 150€ where I live.

If it has to be ultra settings then you need a 1070 or equivalent, if your ok to drop a few settings then the 480 (which has teething problems) or the 1060 which launches in a couple of weeks would be good choices. You could drop to a 6600k with no material loss in games.

I'm thinking I could use a cheaper card for a few months or longer and get a 1070 afterwards. I want something that will get me by until then.

What do you guys think of the r9 380 I mentioned above as an option?

4GB 480 is a good choice. 1060 might be interesting but will be well above $200
The RX 470 might end up being very good too as it is just a slightly cut down 480. Likely a few weeks away from launch.
