Brand new PC crashing while gaming. I've spent days trying to get it working, any help would be appreciated.

I've been reading a lot of threads here and seen issues similar to mine but no solution has yet worked. Just built a PC last week, specs:

Mobo: Gigbyte GA-H110M-A
CPU: Intel i5 6500
GPU: MSI R9 390 8GB
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black HX421C14FB2K2/16 DDR4-2133 16GB(2x8GB)
SSD: ADATA Premier SP550 240GB 2.5” SATA 3
HDD: WD Blue 1TB SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 RPM 64MB Cache
PSU: CORSAIR CXM 650W 80+B SM
Case: NZXT S340 No Power Supply ATX Mid Tower

Built it with my more knowledgeable friend last week, booted first try, I installed Windows on the SSD and then Steam and tried Total War: Warhammer. The game ran perfectly, but after about an hour or so of playing crashed. The display instantly became a blank "black" screen (monitor still on but no image). No audio except a very quiet buzz through headphones. Alt-tab and ctrl-alt-del don't work, I had to force restart.

I tried to play and crashes continue. Sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes after 40 minutes. They usually seemed to happen right as I clicked on something or during AI turns, but a few happened at random other instances. I tried installing some other games, similar crashes. The crashes do not generate any kind of log, nothing under the system tab of event viewer for the time of the crashes, just a message that the computer was not shut down properly.

I checked all of my drivers and updated them for the motherboard and GPU. I completely reinstalled Windows, the same issues continued. I ran Memory Diagnostic and it was clean. I just finished running FurMark for an hour and while my GPU temp climbed to 80C, it never got above that mark and the fans were not even at 100%, stable FPS the entire time. I switched out my ram, tried both stick on both slots. Same crash every time, just an instant black screen and the PC becomes completely unresponsive, but is still powered on with fans running at normal rates. I turned off all sleep options, went through power management settings and set high performance. All BIOS is the latest version.

Any ideas? I'm kind of at wits end and super bummed out after saving for a while to build a decent machine (that when its not crashing is running perfectly)
