My Specs

AMD FX 8370 4.2Ghz (ATM) Default Wraith Cooler Fan
MSI GTX 970 3.5Ghz
CX600M
Giga-Byte GA-78LMT-USB3
8GB DDR3 RAM

Vibox PC Case

Any guidance/advice on which motherboard is best to get for this case/ similar motherboard size as the current one. (Actually want one that can get this CPU to 5Ghz without much issues)

£200 Budget

Would I need to buy windows 10 again if I change my motherboard?

Anything that I should consider please comment below and help!

Thanks for your time in advance.

To get to 5 ghz you do. The ambient temperature has nothing to do with drawing the heat generated by the processor away. If you want to overclock that high you will need a watercooler.

If I were you, sticking to the FX 8370 I would swap out the case and get a 990FX ATX motherboard as I suggested. You will never get the best performance possible with that processor using small boards, nor will you be able to overclock it to any point that its stable or useful. With that board you...
Unless you have a golden chip, a 990FX motherboard and superb cooling, you are not likely to get to 5.0.
A FX-9590 can come close, but even then you will get a single thread passmark rating of only 1722.

Better to spend your budget on Intel of some type. Even a i3-6100 gets a single thread rating of 2102

The best AMD board in that form factor is this:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970M%20Pro3/

It still only has a 4+1 power phase which will prevent you from any real overclock. MAYBE you can get a little overclocking out of it but not a chance in the world at 5 ghz.

If you want 5ghz out of that chip you need a 990FX based board such as:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/990FX%20Extreme9/

Which is full ATX, and also as mentioned a waste of money. For a little more than you would spend to do it (because you would need a water cooler too), you can get an i3-6100, with a new board, and new memory, and blow away the 5ghz unstable overclock in basically every normal task, and game.

Also please do not bump your posts, that is prohibited behavior. Someone will get to you, please realize this site is primarily American and today is a holiday.

What is the best recommendation and advise you can give for sticking to FX 8370 only?

And I personally do not think I need to spend money on water cooling as I live in the UK, summer = winter half the time

Extra fans would be fine I would think

With that board you can overclock somewhat on a good air cooler, or if you want to go to 5ghz you can get the watercooler and do that.

Hi I would to confirm something

My motherboard GA-78LMT-USB3 has Chipset AMD 780G and Southbridge SB700

Whereas other GA-78LMT-USB3 has AMD 760G and SB710

And they all seem to support 125W CPU (this is rev 6.0, 5.0 and 4.1 which is the only ones that seems to be available)

What are the difference?
