Only recently I have been getting these problems. I have owned my PC for just under a year now and up till then things have been running smoothly. My specs are:
AsRock B85 Anniversary Mobo
i5 4460
8 GBs of Gskill DDR3 1600 Ram
XFX Radeon R9 280

Up until now I have been able to run the majority of games at the highest settings and they have run flawlessly at 50-60 fps. Recently whenever I have played games in fullscreen( Talos Principle, Left 4 Dead 2, The Forest, Payday 2), they have crashed (frozen) after 5 mins and I have had to cold restart. The only fix is running them in windowed mode. (Still on high settings etc...). I can easily browse the internet for hours, render Adobe After Effects compositions and download games overnight. Please help, I am very confused.
