I just bought amd fx 6300 and it doesnt fit my motherboard which sucks. I also have a saphhire hd 7900. Could you give a motherboard that has a good price and will fit both of these components. I was thinking of a MSI ATX 970

Hi mate! That does suck, sorry to hear. Next time you can check with us about compatibility beforehand.

On to your current problem - you just need to look for a motherboard that has an AM3+ Socket. Look for a 970 or 990fx board.

Yes, that board uses AM3+ socket so it would be compatible with the fx 6300. The GPU uses PCIe 3.0 - it's standard so you will be fine there also.

Note - I think some 970 motherboards require a BIOS update before they can use Vishera CPU's. You may want to look for something that will work out of the box instead (like a 990FX motherboard). Otherwise you may need to update the BIOS before it will work.

I'm not really sure how to update my BIOS sooo.. is it certain that it will require an update? If yes, could you break it down for me on how to do it, that would help a lot. Thanks.

It's depends on the manufacturer. Also, you will need a CPU that will work with the motherboard in order to actually power on the system and perform the update. The alternative is to take it to a PC shop and have them flash the BIOS for you.

To be honest, you should really just look for a 990FX board and avoid the headache all together. If for whatever reason the power goes out or something during the BIOS update, you will be screwed.
