Hi, I just got a new Optiplex 5040 and physically installed the Samsung 950 Pro SSD in the m.2 slot, and I see it in boot sequence (when legacy option is chosen), but not when UEFI is chosen....so right now it's in legacy mode...but I don't see the drive under Drives M.2 PCIe SSD...

I simply want to install Windows 10 on this SSD as the boot...AHCI is on, what do I do??

Solution
Boot it up on UEFI mode, start the windows 10 install on USB.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/

Make sure you use this to create an install disk (Some reason some people get ISOs from 3rd party websites).

Go through the windows 10 install and when you gives you a choice to choose a disk it should be there.

Estrad, did you ever get it working? I am thinking about a similar upgrade, but I haven't found much information about m.2 PCIe drives with Optiplex 5040s.
