malware blocking internet access

Have tried other solutions here but still unable to connect to internet with either firefox or explorer. Can ping so problem is (it seems) with the the browsers being blocked from connecting. Suspect by malware. But Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, CCcleaner, SpyHunter, Adaware & a few others don't find any problems. Programs which access internet directly (updates & other) work OK. Only Explorer & Firefox are not able to connect. Also tried to roll back registry, but that doesn't seem to work. Suspect very sophisticated malware . . . or just bad, obscure setting somewhere? Help please!

It is not good to have multiple anti-malware programs installed, sometimes they'll block eachother. Try to see if you didn't block Firefox or explorer with your firewall. If you can't find a solution, try to reset your PC to a past date when the issue wasn't there yet (while you're booting, your pc will say "Press F.. For recovery"). Follow the instructions, and you should be fine!

Problem occurred first. Downloaded and used variety of anti virus/malware programs per suggestions here and elsewhere. None found any malware. Removed after using, except Kaspersky and Malwarebytes which I am subscribed to.
Perhaps a clue: Went to Kasp. settings to see firewall settings, and it is now asking for a password, which I had never set! So whatever happened, it also seems to have locked me out of Kaspersky settings. Sounds like a sophisticated attack to me, unless, again, there is something else. Also, don't seem to be able to restore previous registry backups. When selected for restore, they simply disappear.

Hmm... I don't think we, on Tom's Hardware can help you, I think someone needs to take a look at it. Maybe you can bring it to a local computer store? They should be able to take a closer look than we can. Good luck!
