EVGA or Gigabyte GTX 1070?

Solution

I have the EVGA SC version partially because I have a case size limitation on card length that the Gigabyte would not meet. The SC version is closer to the Gaming version of the Gigabyte Gaming in stock form but if your planning on overclocking, the FTW version will give you some extra capability due to the extra power connectors and circuitry on the board. The SC version is closer to the Gaming version of the Gigabyte Gaming in stock form but if your planning on overclocking, the FTW version will give you some extra capability due to the extra power connectors and circuitry on the board. I have overclocked my SC version and get about 2025 MHz where I run into a power limitation and the card throttles to about 1975 - 2012 MHz. I'm still playing with Afterburner and OC Precision to get an actual voltage increase to work correctly to push past this limit. Thermally it runs pretty darn cool so no issues there, I've yet to hit 75C (usually in the mid to upper 60s under load) and I run 2560 x 1440 so I'm pushing for frame rates. No coil whine that I can detect either so I'm very happy with it. On a personal level, I feel the EVGA product has a slightly better warranty but I can't prove that.

Good Luck - Super Q
