I Just got my Radeon rx 480 today and got the drivers installed and tested some games. Seems to be quite beefy. And the only issue i have with it is that when i use v-sync with my games, it chokes the framerate down to 30 and looks awful. If i turn it off, it runs like a dream with a hideous screen tear somewhere on the screen. I just replaced a geforce 750ti everything ive run that With vsync limited the fps to a nice smooth 60... but for some reason AMD goes with 30.. So if anyone has any insight on how to get this resolved i would be most appreciative

Did you do a full wipe of the Nvidia video drivers before installing the AMD? Other than that, try to make sure you have the driver for the monitor loaded if at all possible. Beyond that I would start poking around to see if it is trying to use Adaptive Sync / Free Sync and doing a terrible job of it.
