So I have been trying to upgrade my lenovo h-50 motherboard I had in the garage.

I bought a new case, power supply and graphics card.
I bought a gtx-950 and a 500w power supply.
I bought a 24 pin to 14 pin adapter so the h-50 motherboard could turn on.
I have a VGA only monitor, (GTX-950 came with adapter to VGA)

So I turn on the computer, Without installing any drivers (I know, I'm a noob...) with the VGA and adapter plugged into the graphics card. I got no display. At this point I take out the 950 and try VGA only directly to my mother board. AND I GOT NO DISPLAY. I don't know how to fix this and I have been trying to find advice. Anything would help. Please help :(

Solution
Do you have the latest BIOS? Try resetting the CMOS, with the Graphics card out, and then booting with on-board, if OK, back to BIOS and set primary graphics to PCI-E/PEG, save, exit shutdown, then install the card and try

I tried resetting the CMOS without the graphics card and booting up like you said. It still was a black screen however. Even with the original graphics. I tried CMOS reset with the pins and battery. Neither worked.
