Dear Toms Hardware,
I just built my first medium end gaming pc build. I have built previous pcs in the past but never with a AMD board or parts.
Anyway, straight to the problems
1: When I first was using the desktop it was running extremely slow. The mouse was jumping and lagging all over the place. And, windows 10 took 9 and a half hours to install and probably a good hour just to get through all the menus with jumping lagging mouse of doom. How can I fix this? Especially how slow it is.. considering this is not a low end build. Also, i was told to update the bios. Which, badly needed a update anyway. I flashed it and it got to 98% and went black. When it booted back up the fans, lights, hdd light, power light all revved up but no signal displayed on HDMI. I also tried the vga connector and still no signal. Did I kill it? I followed msi directions to the letter as far as updating bios went.
I reseated the graphics card
Shorted the jumper
Took out the bios battery
Researed the ram.
Second problem. Because I am a impatient fool. I ordered a replacement board from amazon. It arrives tomorrow. What can i do to avoid the above while still fixing said issues.
I should also mention. Before updating the bios. I made sure everything else was fully updated and installed with the latest drivers.
OS: Windows 10 Home
RAM: 16gb HyperX 2600hz or something.
Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming
Graphics card: Nvidia GTX 1070
PSU: Corsair Gold 750W Semi- Modular PsU
Pc part picker said all the parts were within operating range for the psu. 510W
Any help would be greatly appreciated
