Can a USB sound card improve mic quality? (Logitech G230)

While using an external sound chip should eliminate internal wiring picking up noise from inside the PC, there is still a chance that the USB sound chip and its power supply circuit may not be terribly effective at filtering out power supply noise. The only way to find out for sure is to try it. At $6 if you lump it up with other stuff to get free shipping, it isn't too big of a risk.

Thanks! I guess I'll just deal with the mic if it doesn't work. I've already had it for nearly 2 years anyways.
