I have a Havik cooler with 2 140mm NZXT fans. The fans are held in place with silicon mounts that attach to slots in the cooler. Today one of the silicon tie downs broke. See http://

I've looked for replacements but with no luck and been unable to find replacement silicon mounts long enough (about 6.5 inches) to replace.

Would appreciate any suggestions how to mount the fan.

Regards,

Tom C

Those are highly unusual rubber/silicone fan grommets. You might try contacting nzxt to find out if there's any way to get replacements. If that doesn't work you can try some standard silicone fan grommets. Some are shaped differently than others, this one for example has more space between the contact portions so it might be wide enough to prevent pulling through the fins.

https://www.amazon.com/TechJunkie-Vibration-Dampening-Silicone-20-Pack/dp/B00IQWFWFW/ref=sr_1_9?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1467791804&sr=1-9&keywords=rubber+fan+mount

You might have to get a little creative, using washers or something as sturdy backing plates, so the washer contacts the back of the notch in the cooling fins and prevents the rubber built in 'washer' area from trying to pull through the fins themselves. No guarantees but if you're set on keeping that cooler that's where I'd start looking.

That or using some sort of thin soft rubber washers between the cooling fins and frame of the fan to absorb vibration and then use zip ties to anchor the fans or something of that nature.

I already have tried contacting NZXT but they no longer carry them. Unfortunately these mounts are over 6 inches long and I've been unable to find anything that long.

Might I be able to use other fans, or is it typical that manufacturers make the fans unique to their cooler?

Thanks,

Thanks for the suggestion but a search hasn't found those clips. Looks like they're no longer available.
