Hi,
I have a custom built computer and today when i turned it on it will only turn on for 1 second and turn off. I have to disconnect the power for a few seconds and turn it on and it does the same thing. I have tried removing the motherboard and cleaning it doesn't help.
The specs are here below.
M/B: Gigabyte H97m-D3H
CPU: Intel Pentium G3240
Ram: 4GB Kingston ddr3
PSU: Corsair VS350
CPU Cooler: Corsair h50i

Thank you

Solution
Make sure that the CPU fan is being installed correctly , check the mobo with another PSU , make sure that all of the power pins are connected to the motherboard , plug out PCI cards and test again , make sure that the CPU is healthy.

start with a known good power supply. if the pc shuts down with a known good unit there a dead short in the case. start with bare boning the pc. remove any gpu or add in cards then slowly unplug case and drives till the pc posts if there still no live pull the mb if you can try posting it on the top of a desk.

I had a Corsair CX430 and the same exact thing happened for several tries then I smelled something and nothing happened.

The power supply had died.

It could be your CPU, motherboard etc, or other connections but if you checked those best you can then there's not much else you can do except try a different power supply.

I am going to the computer shop to see if they can let me try,
If it is the psu problem than I will buy another one.
Do you guys think it is the motherboard problem?
Thank you

nothing is clear until you test them , it might be the motherboard , but i think the PSU and CPU are at higher priority to check.
