I have coaxial cables running through my house that branch off of one coming from my service provider. There is one existing LAN on one side of the house with a router and a few devices. I want to create a seperate LAN in a different area of the house Off of one of those cables. I dont want a wireless connection only wired is necessary. I want to hook up a modem and run a wired connection in another part of the house for my pc but i realize that it will be isolated from the rest of my network. Is there some program I can run on my pc that will allow me to connect to my other network without buying a router?

Thank you but that is not the ideal solution in this case. There is one cable running into my main network, and it is already occupied providing network to the router. so there is no free cable i could use to connect it to my new network. This also is expensive considering i would have to buy two adapters when i am already buying an expensive modem and plan to save as much money as possible for other expensive upgrades elsewhere. I am looking for a very unexpensive way to connect the two. My PC is going to be the only device on the network so a program i could run would be ideal.

You already have the house wired with coax.
You wish a strong ethernet signal at the other end of the house.

2 choices:
Run a Cat5e to that location
or
MOCA devices at each end, with the signal running through the coax.
A moca device takes a Cat5e from the router, then into the house coax, then out of the house coax at the far end, out to ethernet for your devices.

Please give us a better schematic of the actual wiring.

I tried to upload a schematic but couldn't find out how. But i did find out that my houses' telephone is wired up with ethernet cables. so I am going to use a homemade solution and just wire it up through those. Then it will also cost next to nothing. Thank you anyway.
