Mouse and keyboard not working after installing USB 3.0 host drivers

Hi,

Just installed a fresh copy of Windows 7. Had to enable PS/2 emulation to get past second part of setup. Installed host USB host drivers and the mouse and keyboard stopped working.

What brand of machine? I'm having the exact same problem with a Dell Optiplex. I cannot get my mouse and keyboard to work regardless of what I try: reset bios settings, safe mode, moving ports...

I am using am Acer T3-710. still not worked out the cause of it though
