Asrock z77 extreme4 - I think my PCIe ports just died.

So I built this computer about 4 years ago:

CPU: i5-3570k
GPU: Radeon HD 7850
Ram: G.skill Sniper 2x4gb
PSU: PCP&C Silencer Mk III 600w
Mobo: Asrock z77 extreme4

So I kept getting this weird issue that I originally thought was a monitor issue. Basically every so often when I booted the computer, It would turn on and everything, but the monitor wouldn't receive a signal from the GPU. This only happened every so often and i didn't know how to fix it- It would eventually just go back to normal. I knew it wasn't the monitor because it would work with other devices such as my xbox.

Eventually, it stopped working all together. It wouldn't output a signal and the problem wouldn't go away, like it had in the past. At this point I figured it was the GPU. After tinkering around with a few things, I decided that the last ditch effort on troubleshooting before I bought a new Graphics card would be to move it the next PCIe port. It worked. Everything was back to normal and its been working fine until today. (BTW this whole thing happened about a month ago).

What I did today was remove my graphics card in put in a friends 7870 to see if it worked. His card was broken (It outputs signal fine, but completely shuts down under any kind of load). After some tinkering around with that card, I gave up and told him it was dead.

When I took his card out and plugged mine back in, The old problem started happening again. The computer boots, but the monitor doesn't receive a signal. I don;t know if the second PCIe port just died or if my GPU died.

Some notes about computer:
-Graphics card's fans spin
-Graphics card's LED turns on.

Solutions I have tried:
-Clear CMOS
-Check if PCIe is set as primary video device (It is).

Also I'm not sure if this is an unrelated issue, but my ram also stopped working correctly when I reseated my CPU heatsink. It appears that the last ram slot stopped working so I now have my ram in slots A2 and B1. I worry that this could also potentially be a cpu issue.

1| You forgot to include you OS and display in your system's specs, please include them.

2| I was going to suggest disabling automatic device driver updates as I assumed it was upgraded to Windows 10 but since you mentioned your ram slots acting weird, I'm going to suggest taking out the components like your ram, GPU(and if possible the CPU) and see if they work on your friend's system.

3| Make sure your BIOS is up to date.

4| If the system behaves the same when bread boarded then the board is giving up it's ghost. If not then there is a grounding issue inside your chassis.

5| 4 years since it's conception, I could ask you to inspect your CPU socket for bent/ broken pins but it might well be moot and I'd be second guessing your rig building capability but it wouldn't hurt to double check.
