My desktop has been having a hard time establishing a usable connection to the internet for the past 2 weeks. By this I mean that it says it is connected to the internet but nothing that needs the internet to function functions. I have tried different cables (all worked with my laptop), resetting my ip, all of the cmd fixes I could find, installing protocols, resetting my router and even turning it on and off again probably 40+ times.
A few things I have noticed: when troubleshooting, sometimes it will say one of more protocols missing (which troubleshooter says it fixes), it actually fixes nothing. Other times it will drop the connection and the troubleshooter will say I need to plug a cable in.
Could it be my motherboard failing? I have updated all of my drivers, and the mobo is less than a year old. any help is appreciated guys!
