Sorry for my bad english.
I want to port forward a router (Zhone znid-gpon-2426) but I can't access the router page.
When connected via Wifi, IPCONFIG gives me a weird Subnet Mask (instead of 255.255.255.0 it shows 255.255.248.0) and this odd IP for the Default Gateway which I believe is my public IP and not local (instead of 192.168.x.x it shows 179.56.xx.x). I can still use the internet, but using this IP doesn't let me enter the router page.
When connected via Ethernet cable, IPCONFIG simply doesn't show any IP for Default Gateway and I can't connect to the internet (IPv4 shows 192.168.137.x)
By the way, router's not mine, so I don't wan't to reset it.

Solution
Are you connecting to that router through the WiFi, or are you simply connecting to your internet modem's WiFi? Are the cables in the correct Ethernet ports? The router may not be configured to use DHCP. If it isn't automatically assigning IP's with DHCP, then you need to know what IP address is used. If it's the default for that router it will be 192.168.0.1, but you will need to assign a static address to you network adapter set up. ; say 192.168.0.55 .
You may have to ask the person how it was set up if you don't want to reset it.

I tried connecting through the wifi, but had the problem with the weird IP for Default Gateway, then I tried through the Ethernet ports (all four) but couldn't do it either. Haven't tried to assign a static adress to my network adapter yet. Will try tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
If anybody else has any other ideas or alternative solutions, please post them as well. I'm gonna try all of them tomorrow.
