1607/1733 MHz vs 1759/1898MHz. Big difference for 1080 cards?

I'm in Canada and all GTX 1080 cards are sold out (Checked out Newegg, NCIX, Canada Direct, Tiger, Canada Computers). Only Amazon had a few left, but all were the weaker versions. For example the Asus 1080 strix was 1607/1733MHz compared to NCIX's same card at 1759/1898MHz.

So my question is, does this disparity in speed make a big difference in performance in 1440p? How much FPS would this disparity translate into? As for the backordered cards, how long it takes for them to become available again?

Thanks!

ok so it looks like this card is asus's version of the reference card or founders edition just with their own cooler. there is nothing to worry about with this and with the custom asus cooler you should have no problem overclocking it to a higher clock speed then the other ones you are seeing online.

well first of all that is not that big of a difference in clocks so no it will not make that much of a difference but if you do want to get to those clock speeds you can always overclock the slower card, not only to the speed of the faster one but higher.

hope that helps, feel free to ask any questions you may have

Thanks for your answer. But it's weird that this Asus card has the same core speed as the Founder's edition card. I haven't found any other Asus card that has the same core speed, all the others online are overcloked to 1759/1898MHz. Was just worried that this card may be weird/abnormal. Can you please confirm or disapprove this?

Here's the item

Thanks

oh I see, thanks a lot!
Good to know that I could OC it to the same speed as the other Asus 1080 cards, though I probably won't if the difference in performance is minor :p
I just don't want to pay the same price but getting a slightly weaker card if I can't make it the same :)
