He there i've recently bought GTX 960 and i am very unhappy with poor perfomance.

I have got max 35 fps in games like Assasin Creed 3 , Black Flag or even Far Cry 3 no matter what settings i use.

I started to think that my cpu is too weak for those games?

It's Intel i3 2120 Sandy Bridge.

My 3dmark11 test was pretty poor - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/11386238

Some guys have even 10 000 points with GTX 960.

Tempatures and drivers are ok.

So i do not wanna buy new motherboard , so i should buy older i5-2500? How much will this fix this problem? Is i5-2500 still a decent cpu compare to i5 4460?

I'ts possible that i3 2120 is just weak for those games?

Solution
The i3 2120 is okay, but you're looking at around 5-10FPS increase if you go to i5-2500....

Seeing that the i5 2400 is $85 online, for little more ($120) you can get a Pentium G4400 and Motherboard combo..... That will get you into Skylake zone which will offer you much better performance. But you will need to buy DDR4 ram..... But no worries you can sell that i3 2120 and the DDR3 RAM to get some money for new build.

Good luck :)

i3-2200 is possibly bottlenecking your GPU, but not really is. Your i3 is very old and perform worst at any case. Try to find better cpu at the same price rate. For now, you will need at least Haswell Processor. If you are planning to get better cpu, you should get an i5 or i7, but overall upgrade would be a better choice.

I know it's only dual core.. I'ts not worth for me to get new mobo+new cpu ...

Some people say that 4460 is only 5% faster than 2500... So it's not worth at all

I'm sure it's the CPU that isn't handling it....
It's better to go for G4400 + Motherboard combo for around $120 and sell your old CPU and RAM. (sell it to me, haha)

Actualy i have 28-35 in AC unity on ultra settings but also i have same fps in AC3 and AC:BF and those games are much older and should run with no problems.

I5-2500 would not fix that problem? Acording to test its comparable cpu with 4460

It would help significantly. Yes, it is similar to the 4460 in performance.

So cpu is the problem here probably right? Because drivers are instaled and updated and temps are max 50c during gaming!

I hope i5-2500 will fix this problem. Because this is very poor perfomance comparable to GTX 750

If you know you are not getting Skylake, then get the 2500. If you are upgrading to Skylake, I would wait for enough money to get an 1151 motherboard, 6400 and DDR4 RAM.

Well some good older used i5-2500 seems like the best solution . People sell those cpus for 70 euros.

While new skylake build would cost like 350 euros and that's not worth for GTX 960 i think
