Hi forum. I want to update my Sony Vaio Win 7 laptop to Windows 10 upgrade. But I decided first to do a fresh install of Win 7. Unfortunately the fresh install crashed about 10 Minutes after I started the fresh install
The screen has frozen while displaying this INSTALLING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 45% and nothing has changed overnight. If I switch off the laptop and reboot it would the fresh install carry on regardless or would the laptop be bricked in some way.
Regards Ronny

Sounds like you did a factory restore off the restore partition, there may be a bad hard drive causing this, when it can't read the files it needs. You would either need to contact Sony for support to get a restore disk set, or if you created a restore disk set from Windows you can use that. The disk setup may also fail if it's a bad hard drive, see if the BIOS has an option to run a hardware scan on the computer to check for issues.
