Is it possible to have all the 4 drives active... connected to motherboard. does the motherboard have to be raid supported ? And which lga 1151 socket motherboard should i use....

Solution
Hey there, Akash.

What's the model of your motherboard. Basically you can have them all connected, there should be no problem with that. If you don't want a RAID configuration, that's completely fine. Just have them connected and use them as separate drives.
If you don't have enough SATA III ports for all the drive, you should make sure that at least the SSD is connected to one of the available SATA III ports.
Make sure that you have enabled AHCI from your BIOS/UEFI settings. If this is a new build, enable AHCI before you install Windows on the SSD and make sure that you have no other drives connected to the motherboard during the Windows installation process.

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks ... helped me a lot.... i still have to choose a motherboard, so can you recommend me one with lga 1151 socket compatibility

Unfortunately as an official WD representative I can't really recommend any devices that are not under the Western Digital brand. However, I'm sure that if you post a thread about that in the community, everyone will be more than helpful and will provide decent suggestions.

Since you are a new SSD user, it might prove useful to check out the suggestions from this article: https://www.maketecheasier.com/12-things-you-must-do-when-running-a-solid-state-drive-in-windows-7/.

Cheers!
