can i use gigabyte xtreme gtx 950 with cooler master 500w

Like I said, even if it's bad PSU it can take up at least 70% of it's maximum wattage meaning it can take up to 350W on load. You system won't spend more than 200W when on 100% load so there's no need to change your PSU even if it's a bad quality one. If you have money for new PSU then sure, go ahead and get smth that will be of good quality that you won't need to change for years. Aim at 500-600w since you won't need more as new hardware spend less and less power compared to before.

will corsair vs550 psu good enough for gtx 960.
configurations:- core i5 3550
8gb ram
500gb hdd
1 optical drive.
or could my old coolermaster thunder 500w provide enought power for gtx 960.
