Hey all,
I bult a PC a few years back and have been using it daily since.

Today it would not boot and didnt even display anything on screen (fans working and motherboard power light was on). Noticed the CPU light was on the motherboard.

After searching around the net, most results came back with new builds not connecting cpu power supplies correctly, but confident this is not the case.
I then removed a few things that used power like blue ray, DVD and 1 ram stick (have 2x 8gb). The pc then booted up fine. Confused, i then placed everything back in and it booted up fine.

Obviously there must be something wrong somewhere, but unsure what it could be. Could it be a faulty power supply, motherboard problem, or maybe CPU.

Can anyone help me out please?

Thanks in advance

Andy

Solution
So you recalculated temps from margins ?
What are margins per core under full load ?
Better to use stability test from AOD, prime is more geared toward Intel platform.

Just done a 30min Prime95 Torture test on my CPU.
Temperatures
Idle around 30c
Max 66c

Is the max a little high? (cpu board temp reading is max 71c)

Was thinking about cleaning it with compressed air and putting new paste on.

Thanks

Hi Mike, thanks for the reply.

Not entirly sure that would have worked. 3 items out (boots), 3 items back in (still boots). Would have expected the problem puting all items back in.

I do get my Asus AI suite moaning at me all the time about AMD CPU going over 60c (done this for awhile). But that is a board sensor and not a core reading. Core reading is around 5c less when pushed.
