Well hello there, so recently i have see some "bad" review about CX600, I have my rig with it for about 4-5 years old, and it's still run fine though. But, i have plan to build a new simple pc for my dad (i have an abandoned i3-3220)

Here is my rig :
i5-3570k
GA-Z77X-D3H
Zotac GTX650 1GB
4GB XMS3 Corsair (planning to upgrade it to Vengeance pro 8GB 1866c9)
1TB WDC Blue
CX600 installed

and for my new build :
i3-3220
GA-H61M-DS2 (it's hard to find brand new-1155 board these day )
500GB WDC Blue (or green maybe ? my father isn't a hardcore gamer though)
4gb xms3 from my old rig
psu = ?

So, my questions is :
1. Which one better, should i upgrade my CX600 to another PSU ? and put the CX600 on my i3-3220 ? OR i stay with CX600 and buy the VS450 for the i3-3220
2. My dad only use computer for office thing so i guess WD green should be enough,or should i stick with the blue one ?
3. and for my rig, yeah it's quite old build, but i'm not planning to change it for next 3-4 years, but, is it better to buy a 256GB ssd or 1TB WDC Black ? since i used my rig only for 3d animating (solidworks, autocad) and a little gaming (dota2, skyrim, grid, etc), even, i play a lot on my notebook.

Things that matter for me is, as what i knew, PSU is essential in building PC, so i guess upgrading mine to a good one isn't a bad news, maybe i will buy a new rig in near future (about 3-4 years from now though  ). But i will listen to your answer and considerate it.

and my budget for new psu is about USD130

Thanks guys.

Solution
The Corsair VS not any better than the CX models.

The CX is not horrible to use, especially for a light load system.

You have a very good budget for a power supply, for an i3 system with no extra video card you can spend $40 and get a very good quality unit. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371033

Depends on if you want a modular one or not for a clean or small case use.

I would not get a Green model hard drive, they are made for low power use not as a main system drive really.

I'd get a 120 gig or 240 gig solid state drive, not a lot of money and plenty of space for basic uses.

Honestly, there's a different between price for psu in my country and newegg. The currency play it role affecting the electronic price here. I could get a RM850 for 129 bucks in newegg, but it could cost more here (maybe arround 147), that's quite costy for me since I'm still in college haha
Oh, and i guess, your solution means that i stay with CX600 and spend $40 for the i3?

Actually, i dont want to do anything for the i3 since it only for daily light use, but, i need to make it last for years. I prefer to use the modular one on my i5 since i love modding too
