Does the new GPU from AMD RX-480 works without harming the motheboard after the "FIX" that AMD was telling about?

i considered buying their new GPU RX-480 but heared about the harm it might do to the pc.after the fix that the company published is the gpu works well now...i mean did AMD make a good solution to the problem of power consumption?

Solution
Just clicked my driver update button and it's still saying 'up to date' with 16.6.2 so the new driver is not released yet.

Bear in mind that it is still only 7.00am in California so the update could land anytime in the next 10 to 12 hours.

I'm sure there will be re-reviews of the RX 480 reference card with the new driver fix by Friday afternoon.

it highly unlikely it will do any harm to your motherboard even without the software fix. you have to understand how chip work which i will not go into detail but i'll give you a idea. most of the chip can take 15 to 20% more power to it as long as you are not doing it like non stop stable power to it. some can even go up more and that is how they are design to it. the "KEY WORD" is voltage spike and not constant high voltage. so if it only like a few millisecond or nanosecond of high voltage. it should be ok.

it says the RX480 can spike as high as 6.74 amps (6.74 x 12 =80.88) which is 5.88w over 75w limit "spike voltage" 7.84% ish? depending how long that "spike is" it should be ok. you still haven't hear story that say "My Rx480 <mod edit language> up my motherboard" on a big title. have you?

correction of what i have said. I've only read about the info. and i didn't see the pictures of the "power spikes" from a oscilloscope.

that is not a "power spikes" that is a non stop beating of the chip over 75w.
so if the rx480 is working like that. it may <MOD EDIT LANGUAGE> up the motherboard.
so yer. do wait and see what amd will do with the software fix before you get the card.

<MOD EDIT: Check your PM's and stop with the vulgar language>
