hi,

i am about to upgrade my gpu. and i saw the GTX 950. And i saw on the nvidia webiste that the Recommended System Power is 300w and i currently have 450w, is that enough? if not, any suggetions?

The calculate thing: http://outervision.com/b/Su7jCZ

Should i take the risc of buying the GTX 950 with a 450w psu? (i don't have enough money to buy one with a psu)

my rig now:
amd a4 5300
GT 610 (upgrading to GTX 950)
12 gb ram
1 tb hdd

psu: hkc 450w

thanks for taking your time!

Solution
Yes, i shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure that if the card has a 6-pin PCI-E power connector that your power supply also has a 6-pin PCI-E power connector. GTX 950s are available both with and without the power connector, but the ones that have it are slightly faster.

its a pretty generic PSU. The lower end PSU's will struggle. You need about 400w, you have 450w.

with a 610 to a 950 its only about 50w more. I would say try it... Worse case the computer shuts down because of not enough power. Upgrade the PSU at that point.
