Hello, I just received a new modem. Since i plugged it in and got it running, I've had a couple of problems.

Ipconfig says both my standard gateway and DHCP is 192.168.0.1
I cannot connect to the web interface with 192.168.0.1 in my address bar, it just comes up with "Can't connect" ON MY PC. But for some really weird reason, I CAN connect to my webinterface on my smart phone.

It says my Ipv4 address is 192.168.0.10(preffered) on my pc, even though my actual ipv4 address is different when i check with whatismyip.com

Please help.

Only your modem/router is assigned the public IP address (83.69.x.x). All devices behind the router are assigned private IP addresses (192.168.x.x). For network and system security, it is generally not recommended to configure your network in a way that the PC is assigned the public IP address..

Use the port forwarding feature on your router to forward the required ports to your server.

I need to change my Ipv4 address from local to the actual IP, otherwise i won't be able to host my mumble server and other game servers, because it uses my local IP

Thanks for the tip, but that is kinda why I came to tomshardware, to get help from experienced people because I couldn't find any solution to my problem on google.

I fixed the problem where I couldn't log into my Web Interface, I reinstalled my Internet Adapter Driver

I just need help to fix the ipv4 being a local IP now. My friends cannot connect to my servers because it uses 192.168.10 as my ipv4 address. It needs to be 83.69.xxx.xx
