External hard drive not showing files

I have a seagate backup plus. I store tv shows and movies on it and it was working last night, i wake up and it wont show any files. I have it attached to a vizio e601i-a3e can anyone help me figure this problem out.

I'd recommend you go to Disk Management in Windows and check how your external drive is recognized there. What is the file system of the HDD there? Since you are able to access the storage, but you cannot see the files themselves, I'd also suggest you try un-hiding any hidden files/folders on the drive. If that doesn't help, check how the HDD would get recognized on another computer and, of course, on the Smart TV.
