Best Graphics Card for 1080p editing and gaming.

Hi. I do 1080p gaming and video editing, and I felt like a need an upgrade from integrated graphics. I found the AMD RX 480 and GTX 1060 both good options, considering I want to spend under $300. Which is better for 1080p gaming and editing? I am also buying a 1440p monitor soon, so along with the other question, which would be best 1440p gaming (not editing)?

Well the claim that the 1060 will outperform a 980 means it should be stronger than the 480 but only the benchmarks will tell us the true story. Both should be perfect for 1080p but for 1440p you would be better off going with the 1070

If the 970 was great for 1440p, and the 980 outperformed it, MATHEMATICALLY the 1060 should also be good for 1440p?
