Hello, so I've been having issues with my ping in game so I began troubleshooting to figure out what the issue was. I'd play an online game and randomly I'd experience terrible lag and very bad ping. I wanted to see if it was game servers or the fact that my computer is wireless so I started looking at the ping to my router (through cmd) and playing a game to see if the spikes were connected to my router. I noticed I'd get around 2-5 ping when everything was ok and then 500-1000 when the lag spike happens and then back to 2.
Is that the reason my games lag? Is this normal on a wireless setup? Would going wired fix this? What about using a wifi booster instead of going wired?
Also I've been trying to get my connection to be wired, but my dad insists on trying a wifi booster because he does not want me to drill a hole in the floor to plug into the router and modem downstairs
I'm currently using a Netgear WNDA4100 wireless card.
