Tubes are super super hot on liquid cooling system

My buddy has just got this

The question is, are his tubes supposed to be like.. burning hot to the touch? Neither of us know much about liquid cooling, as we are just venturing into this, so any tips and information would be appreciated.

I was reading they should only get room temp at most.. this is definitely beyond room temp. Thank you!

What temperature is the CPU at idle and under load? Are both tubes hot, or is one cooler than the other?

Can you hear the pump working?

What processor? Are both tubes super warm? Can you feel/hear the liquid moving?

He says he can only hear the fans and he said he is not sure if its water moving as it could be vibration. Like I said, super new to this so not sure what it would feel like. Would it be super obvious? And the air coming out of the fan is cool, if that helps you any.

One tube should be noticeably cooler than the other, this is the feed line to the processor.

idle according to thermal margin (I know those numbers arent the actual temp, i just trust thermal margin more than speedfan etc for accurate temp) in AMD Overdrive is 30-40c

under load its 26c thermal margin

All he hears is fans lol

If both tubes are hot, then I suspect the pump is not working and it isn't pushing liquid through the radiator. Do you know which fan header on the motherboard your friend used to connect the CLC's power source to?

He says its a 4 pin connection and it just says CPU fan. Hopefully that was the answer you were looking for. Sorry if we misunderstand.

This sounds like a defective pump. If you guys are sure the CLC (closed loop cooler) is connected properly (and it sounds like it is), then I would suggest returning/exchanging this device.

Thank you so much everyone for the help! Yeah he will probably ask for a replacement then because he said the instructions were pretty straight forward and it doesnt seem like any water is going through after he really felt it and stuff. Hopefully that was the issue.
