Hey everyone, my friend got me an Alienware x51 r2 for Christmas. I know that it was a bad deal, but I appreciated the gift and decided to stick with it as I thought it could handle what I do on the computer. He threw out the warranty so I can't get help. Anyways, I can play games fine, the only problem is that whenever I play a game that is graphically intense, my PC just shuts down with no warning.

The parts are:
CPU: Intel i7-4770 @ 3.40 GHz
GPU: GTX 760 Ti OEM
Case: Alienware x51 Case
Motherboard: Alienware 0PGRP5
RAM: 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 * 799MHz
OS: Windows 10 64bit

I ran HWMonitor and these are the results:

+3.3V: MIN: 3.248V MAX: 3.280V
+5V: MIN: 4.961V MAX: 5.003V
+12V: MIN: 11.880V MAX: 11.968V

I don't think dust is the problem as it is pretty clean. I don't know if this is a clue, but whenever my computer shuts off, the AC adapter's light goes out with it too. I'm not too sure how to check my cooler, so if it is needed please tell me how to find out! Any and all help is very much appreciated :D!

The power brick for the x51 R2 model of gaming laptop comes in two power ratings.

Look on the power brick, and see how many watts it provides, there is one that provides 240w of peak power output.
And a more up rated version of the power brick that provides a power output of 300w of peak power.

If the laptop is shutting down when running a graphically intensive game, you need to buy the 300w power brick.

If you do have the 300w version then the problem is heat.

You need to cool the underside of the laptop with a laptop cooling stand, one with a large fan on the stand.

Click on the link bellow to see the two different power bricks provided 240w standard.
300w for x51 systems with a set graphics card model fitted to it, to stop the shutdown of the x51 r2.

Look at the power listing.

Sorry, but I'm slightly confused. When you say 300w, you mean the 330w correct? I just want to make sure I'm not missing something because I'm pretty sure I have the 240w version.

Also, is the website incorrect because it says only the GTX 760 and 960 require 330w? Since I have a computer, would I just get fans if the 330w version didn't work?

Sorry for asking so many questions, I'm really bad with computers!
