Problem when using laptop to hook Desktop to internet.

I've obtained an issue today.

You see, I recently bought a new Desktop. It doesn't seem to agree with wireless adapters too well, so I use my laptop and an ethernet cord to give it internet. Yesterday, though, the ethernet wouldn't show up on my laptop, leaving my Desktop with no internet. After some looking around, I found that the only thing to do was factory reset my laptop. That fixed the ethernet problem, and caused another.

Now, when I attach the Ethernet cord to both systems, they'll say that each computer is an 'Unidentified Network', and my laptop won't give off any internet to the desktop. To make matters worse, it seems that every now and then, when I plug the ethernet into both of them, it will corrupt my laptop's wireless driver, having me reinstall it.

This is just tiring to deal with, and was wondering if you all have any answers.

I cannot hook up the desktop to the modem/router. That's out of the question.

The Laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C55D-B5319.

The Desktop is a Skytech Archangel ST-FX6300-8GB1TB-GTX750TI.

Thanks in advance for anyone whom can assist my issue, and towards those whom attempt to assist.
