What colour are the plastic tongues of the two front USB ports on your system case Blue ?
One is blue. One is black. I just plugged my wireless adapter into the black one and no bluescreen. I doubt the issue would be that it is USB 3.0 because I normally have my adapter plugged into a USB 3.0 slot on my I/O panel.
