i just want to know if i have to get and pwm fan hub controller to control the radiator fans, because it stays at 900rpm under prime95 no matter what setting i try on corsair link.

Solution

Unless your connected to a four pin header you may not have full control of fan speed.

A 3-pin fan is generally connected to a MB fan header and its speed is changed by changing the supply voltage, IF the MB is capable of it.

A 4-pin fan header has the same three pins and signals on Pins 1 to 3.
The important difference, though, is that Pin ALWAYS has the full +12v DC on it.
The added Pin 4 carries the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signal from MB to fan and varied by the MB control system.

Can be confusing I know, so I hope this helps.

There are Fan controllers that can do the job and in a previous build, I had a ZALMAN ZM-mfc2 which worked fine.
