Which cpu should I use with my build.
Z170-AR ATX LGA1151 motherboard
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory.

I chose 1151 because I want to upgrade to a 6700K or better later.Say after 2/3 years.
I want a cpu which is not too dare but does the job. Used for gaming. Preferabbly overclock.
Under $300. Am in NZ.

Solution
Yes the i5 6600k is more futureproof.

and GPU wise like I said, the gtx 780 is stronger than the gtx 960, but it's already 2 generations old. So keep that in mind.
I'd highly suggest that you save an extra 23 dollars and go with this one.

There are not however, ANY CPUs under 377 NZ dollars compatible with the Z170 chipset that can be overclocked. If you want to be able to overclock, you need to save another 77 bones. Considering you have a Z170 motherboard, which is MEANT for overclocking, that's probably an even better idea.

Well those 2 games will run fine on both.
Though the gtx 780 is stronger than the gtx 960 and will give better performance.
The gtx 960 uses less power though.

What is your psu? And did you consider a second hand gtx 970?

You could also get an i5 6500 instead of i5 6600k and put that money towards a newer gpu?

I will first get a gpu then choose a psu accordingly
Isn't the Z170 the best one i can get plus i can overclock cpu.
I want to future proof this build so I wouldnt have to upgrade next year or so.
