hi guys,

My external hard drive SRD00f1 detects in my computer as well in other too, but it shows the pop-up as "you need to format the drive: before you can use it".

But my need is i need the files and data in that hard drive.

Please help me out from these problem.... and suggest me what would be the best solution for this action.

Hi there Tarun_9,

You can use some partition/data recovery tool in order to retrieve the data. There are quite a lot of threads on that in the community.

After that, it may be a good idea to check the drive's health status out. You can do so with either a brand specific testing tool or with a third party one.

Do you use the safely remove feature before unplugging the drive?

Thanks for the help, I am using some partition/data recovery tool to retrieve my data. And YES I do use the safely remove option every time.
