Hello everyone, so I have been using my laptop for the past two years and have never expierienced this problem. Yesterday I had been using my computer quite normally, closed it to check on something re-opened it and it would not start up. Take not that I do live in West-Africa and it can get quite dusty at times. So I opened my computer up and found copious amounts of dust and believed cleaning the fan would solve it. I completely cleaned the fan yet the computer would not start up. I left it alone for a while and came back to it and when I tried booting it up it actually turned on and I used it as I normally would. I then shut my computer and it would not turn on again. Only the charging LED and battery LED show up, nothing happens when I press my power button as there's usually a blue light that pops up and none of the insides apart from I don't know what is making a small noise. Please help, I know that it's not dead as it worked last night and that there is a fix.
Thanks,

Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums,
There are a few problems I've encountered that cause that kind of behavior. First would be that the the power button itself is failing and only providing an intermittent signal. Second might be that the motherboard is having issues, you can attempt to discharge the motherboard to clear any hung IC's by; 1) Unplug power adapter, 2) remove battery, 3) (with no power to laptop) press and hold the power button for ~20-30 seconds, 4) put battery back in, 5) plug power adapter in, 6) attempt to turn on.
There are a few others that seem to be escaping me at the moment but I'll include those when (if) they come to me.
