Play 30fps instead of 60fps is that possible?

I have a gaming laptop and it get's hot while playing, I actualy play bf4 and the majority of the servers have a 30hz only so 60fps is useless is there any methode to let it get only 30fps?
Specs:i7 6700
Gtx 960m
16 gb of ram

It's been a while since I've played BF4, but isn't there an option to lock the framerate at 30hz in the settings? If not, you may be able to go into Geforce Experience and set BF4 to 30hz there.

As for what you said here:

I think you're mistaken. I believe that the Tickrate of those servers is 30 times per second, but that does not mean that running at 60fps will be useless. It'll still provide a much smoother experience.

There is a lock for 60 fps but not 60.
Can u explain me how cause all I know is that on battery I can but don't know how to lock it normaly.
I think that u know more than me so I am wrong but for heat problems need 30fps.

Sorry, I missed that part of your post.

Open up NVIDIA Control Panel, click on "Manage 3D settings", then click on the "Program Settings" tab, select BF4 where it says "Select the program to customize"

Now, scroll through the options under "Specify the settings for this program". When you find "Vertical Sync" set it to "Adaptive (half refresh rate).

Hopefully that should do it.
