Hi guys. I had my old 280X laying around so I put it in a new PC I was building. It's been a while since I've used an AMD card so I'm not really sure what could be causing this issue aside from bad drivers.
Anyway, it only happens when I'm using apps on the desktop (such as Chrome or Steam) - I will be doing something and then I'll get a random flash where the whole screen gets black & white lines horizontally across it, then flashes back to normal.
This happens in the space of about 1 second.
Things to note:
- I am running the latest Radeon Drivers
- OS is Windows 8.1 Pro
- Card has factory overclock
- Never had any issues before the newer drivers
- Card is firmly seated in PCI-E socket and is not getting bumped about.
- Does not occur when playing games.
- GPU temps are fine (28c when idle).
- Power supply is more than enough (XFX 650w gold rated 80+).
- Driver version is 16.7.1
- Doesn't happen if I have no drivers installed (so it must be something to do with the drivers).
I'm connected to a 1080p asus monitor via DVI.
Like I said before, it probably is an issue with the drivers but I'm not sure what could be causing it. Any ideas for anything that I could tweak in the AMD control panel thing would be great!
