that is only 10% in 1080p in 1440p it is 1-3%. Overclocked the 980ti performs better until we get modded firmware for the 1070 and see the results. That being said the 980ti uses 100watts more which means more db's when overclocked. So unless your buying used or getting a sale I would stick to the 1070.

Interesting, most of the benchmarks (non-overclocked) I saw the performance gap at 1440 was bigger than at 1080. Anyway, the point remains that at stock clocks the 1070 comes out on top most of the time and it is a newer card with new architecture, definitely a better buy if the price is very similar.
