hi all,

building a new build with windows 10 and am keeping my SSD/HDD from my old build. How do i wipe them completely before installing my new windows 10? my current windowss 7 is on my SSD, but nmeed to wipe before installling?

thanks all.

Solution
Format the drive and install .... unless you have secret / highly personal documents on there and the PC may fall into nefarious hands, there is no need to do a secure erase.

Format / Install / Done
1. Wipe the SSD and install Win10 fresh (see tenforums.com for tutorials) leaving old storage data cables unplugged and ethernet cable unplugged.

2. Install all original hardware drivers.

3. Turn off Windows Update's ability to install hardware drivers (see tenforums.com for tutorials)

4. Connect ethernet cable and run windows update

5. Connect cables to old storage

so format my SSD then Do the secure erase? While my OS is on there?

Should i just format my HDD aswell without using Dban? Rather not have to use it considering i cant burn cd's currently.
