So when i originally built the tower I installed x2 4gb sticks of Kingston Fury Hyper X. Well this past weekend i bought another 8gb but i got just one 8gb stick. How should the ram be arranged in my case now? I originally had x1 4gb stick in the number 2 slot and the other in the number 4 slot. I popped the 8gb stick in the 3rd slot and windows is recognizing everything and my computer is running fine but i just want to make sure.
Thanks,

Bets arrangement would be to keep the 2 x 4 GB in the PC and not install the 8GB until you have two of them that came out of the same package. Slots are labeled A1 B1 A2 B2... they are usually color coded to make it hard to mess up. There is a picture in your MoBo manual that will address this question.

1. Always install dual channel RAM in pairs.

2. Avoid pairing up sticks that didn't all arrive in the same package.

3. If you can't do 2, pay attention to 1 making sure that eveyything is exact same spec.
