Iv been using virtualbox I was wondering what is a better software payed or free I would like to have multi monitors and keyboards for each vm it's just for personal usage and when my little cousin comes over I can set up the vm and he can use that wile I use my main setup

I'm running a 5930k with sli 980ti so I know I have a strong enough system to run the it even if I had to lower some setting

What your trying to do is create virtual computers to multiple real hardware devices off one central computer.
This will not work as your describing because your logic is flawed due to lack of key details about software and hardware.

IF you set your PC as a SERVER (that all it does it serves the requests), this is NOT done with 'Windows', but the SERVER edition, which then serves out the Virtual session to a client software / hardware that connects 'remotely'. This is what CITRIX was, and now with VMs you can replicate the same thing without the issues CITRIX had.

You would still need a 'base' device, even if ti was say embedded Windows (used in cashier machines, ATM or such) to run a 'lite' session for your low end hardware, then it would 'connect' via your LAN to the HOST (Server) and run that authorized 'session' with whatever you made in that VM image.

See there is ALOT more to this then what your asking for just 'adding' some monitors and keyboards and your done because you got a great gaming PC.

I would suggest for your little cousin, to make a second account that doesn't have Admin rights so he doens't mess with your rights and LEARN TO SHARE if your parents are telling you to with your computer. Otherwise tell your parents to explain to your Aunt/Uncle your cousin needs to bring his own iPad over to play on not your PC.

Multi seat is being able to use 2 sets of kbd/mouse/monitor with 1 "PC" to control 2 applications at the same time.

Virtual Machine is running multiple OS, under a host OS, controlled by one kbd/mouse/monitor.
Like this:

3 x OS, 1 PC, 1 kbd/mouse/monitor. You interact with 1 OS at a time.

O it's so we can multi play games at the same time normally I run triple 144hz so if I run 2x games at the same time at 60hz on single monitors rather then waist money on a whole new computer that I wouldn't even have much use for

What I posted above is with VirtualBox VM's.

Windows 10 host, LinuxMint VM, and Ubuntu VM.
All running, but can only use one at a time. Could add another guest Windows OS of whatever if I choose.

But just plugging another mouse/kbd in does not mean I can control one of the guest OS's, as well as the host, independently.
Doesn't work like that.

Let me be very specific here

1) NO you can not 'both play' the same game, you are only SINGLE SEAT licensed for games (meaning one person in front of one computer can play that game you bought).

2) NO you can't "share the game" like your thinking between two people on one piece of hardware (like you do on consoles)

3) Even using SteamBox, SteamController, or other ones adverted out there to 'share your PC games' it is using your gaming PC to 'stream' to the 'controller' or box or "on a whole new computer' that again only ONE person can play the game, but now your playing your PC game with a 'wireless controller' on the big 72" Flatscreen TV in the living room, not on your small PC screen.

4) One way you can share your library is using the Steam Client's Family Share option, I can allow my kids to play Evil
Genius I bought to play, while I play The Division. If I wish to play Evil Genius I have to 'kick' the kids off my purchased copy on Steam (again remember licensed for only ONE person on ONE computer to play it at a time). But again you have to "waist money on a whole new computer " (in this case the kids are on their own computer).

The SOLUTION to your issue is: Tell Mom / Dad to buy you a PS4 to multiplay games with your cousin. There is no other way to do it.

As said repeatedly, still needs TWO computing hardware devices even if your talking FREE games.

I don't console either, but still is the answer to your problem.

"best vm software"...for what?
Running a game in a guest OS, from a single mouse/keyboard? VirtualBox, I guess. None are really suited for 'gaming'.

Or did you mean to run 2 instances of a game, multiplayer, with 2 x mouse/keyboard?
If that is what you meant, none.
It does not work like that.
