Which way should i follow and why?
My current build includes the kaveri so if i go for the 6k upgrade i need to change my mb for an am3+
On the other hand i could simply add a 970
What would have the best performance for gaming?

Solution
If you can tolerate it for a bit longer I'd probably hold out and get a 1060 in a few weeks. Should be a similar price and have near 980 performance
You would be better off with a Intel Skylake 6100 Core I-3 for around $120ish US dollars and a GTX1060 for $249 when it comes out in a few weeks. I gave up on AMD when I saw that a Hasewell Core I3 4320 beat out a FX8370 in Ashes of Singularity in Direct X12. And a I3 6100 is a faster chip than the 4320.

DX12 is supposed to favor multicore processors. Thus you would think the 8 core FX8370 would have the advantage over the dual core I3 but it does not.

Any of the A series APU's is limited in ability when it comes to high end gpus. The shortchanged Lcache and other things gets to be an issue when compared to a standard cpu. Whether the A10 will bottleneck the 1060 or not enough to count is info I just don't have, but pretty much as said, after the 380 or 960 you get into a whole different class of gpu as ultra affects become increasingly higher in gpu demand.
