GTX 780 ti OC Windforce or GTX 970 Extreme Gaming

So i need a gpu and i have two choices
GTX 780 ti OC Windforce edition (230$)
GTX 970 Extreme Gaming edition (320$)

by the looks of it 780ti is the better choice but i still want an opinion, a friend of mine told me that 780 ti is also better than 970 in terms of performance, is it true?

Their performance level is nearly identical. My GTX 780 Ti is going strong in all the latest titles. With that price difference, I would go with the GTX 780 Ti. That Gigabyte Windforce is one of the best models.

both of them are used, and both of them are in very good condition
Oh and i was mistaken, gtx970 is 370$ and he says he will go down to 350$

gpus are very costly here like 980ti is still 900$ and 980 is 700-750$
new 970 is 500-550$.
and no new 780ti cards

well i checked a couple of games i like on youtube and the 780ti was on par with 980. above 970 and a bit lower than 980 in fps and on game debate i checked the comparison and gtx780ti windforce is better than 970 in performance
and i also checked few video for 780ti performance videos on custom ultra settings and the fps were very good 60fps most of the time in most games
AC Unity and Syndicate, MGSV, Dragon AGE3, Witcher 3, need for speed 2015, Division, Rise of tomb raider, watch dogs, ryse, dead rising 3, and 2-3 more. (50-60+ fps minus Unity, unity had 40-50 fps)
