Hi, this is my first time building a PC and I want to see your opinion on which of the following builds would be better for gaming @ 1080p:

GTX 970 along with FX-8300
R9 380x along with i5-4460

Prices are similar where I live. Which one would be a better choice?

P.S: I'm inclined towards the GTX 970, but I am not sure if the difference in FPS is worth dropping an I5 for. I'm also aware of a slight bottleneck on the FX-8300.

Here are the comparisons of the GPUs and CPUs. If you want better performance in CPU intensive games, get the i5 option. If you want better performance in most games, get the FX option. I would seriously recommend the i5 option for the FX will be replaced by Zen, thus giving you no room for upgrade and you can upgrade your i5 with an i7 if you have saved enough money in the future. But according to these comparisons, you will get better performance in games with the FX and GTX option.
